Is Remote Access The Way Of The Future?:
With recent developments in the way we work on our computers, including things such as the internet, remote access, and collaborative workrooms, the question has to be asked - "which technology will most likely change the future the most?". When we approach this question, it immediately becomes clear that there are two features of the internet which will fiercely battle it out to win the top spot. They are - online collaboration, and remote access.
Ironically, internet collaboration was actually brought about because of the development of the remote access capability. That means that surely, it must be remote access which takes the award. But it we look at it like this, we could technically say that the internet itself should claim a spot - because it was the technology which enabled remote access in the first place.
Therefore, it makes sense not to look at things in the order with which they were developed, but instead the likelihood of future developments utilizing these individual technologies.
Collaborative Success.
If you are wondering what all the hype is about when it comes to online collaboration, you are able to get an insight in to the workings of the collaborative industry.
Basically, online collaboration allows for two things:
1. People working with each other from a distance.
2. Massive efficiencies at work, in terms of time and money.
Because online collaboration allows people to come together from anywhere in the world and work on one project or document at the same time, there is no longer a need for everyone to travel to the same location, and hence to have to meeting regarding a particular project. This can now be done solely online, where before it was impossible.
For the future - there are many avenues that collaboration could take, however we feel that they are very limited to teams and groups of people working together.
Remote Access Success.
The very idea of remote access is a success. The fact that you can log on to another computer from a different location results in many efficiencies (all of those listed above), and a few more. They are:
- Flexibility
- Reliability
- Variability
Those three "-ility" worlds m,ay not sound like much, but the very fact that they can be applied to the idea of remote access means that in the future - there is so much more we can achieve with the technology than we could with simple collaboration itself.
